Cabin 01
Cabin 01 is a 65sqm dwelling designed as a compact yet highly liveable retreat space that will function equally well as a permanent residence or airbnb holiday accommodation.
A key part of the design approach was creating a space with strong identity while remaining practical and buildable. Readily available materials, fixtures and fittings were selected to keep construction accessible, while colours, textures and finishes were curated to create warmth and individuality. White walls were intentionally avoided to create a richer palette.
The result is a small dwelling design to feel calm, expressive and connected with it's environment.

Waltz Studio focuses on curated small-scale projects including secondary dwellings, cabins, retreat spaces, renovations and additions across SE Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Services include creative direction, concept design, DA and BA documentation, consultant coordination and approval assistance.
The studio works on only a limited number of projects at any one time, allowing for a more personal, collaborative, and carefully considered design process.
