'Landscape Portraits' are a study of local natural locations by Currumbin based photographer and designer, Lindy Shaw.

 

These photographs are portraits of nature - the elements that shape the backdrop of our lives. Though they may appear static now, these landscapes have experienced dynamic transformations long before we arrived. Ever-evolving, they are influenced by rain, tides, time, and the light cast by the sun's position in the sky. It feels good to show reverence to that which we may normally overlook or take for granted.

"I love the idea of singling out elements in the broader landscape and creating portraits. Rather than a landscape scene where the location can fairly easily be determined by the viewer, portraits are much more intimate, they may only be recognised by someone that knows a place more deeply."
